Default No Bass In Front Speakers?

I noticed that there is NO bass what so ever coming out of my front speakers. I have the component speakers (little circle with the big circle in the doors) with the gain control and stock cassette player. My rear speakers have plenty of bass but I noticed that the fronts dont have any and I'm tired of turning the bass all theway up on the back speakers and drowning out the passengers. Any ideas?

Mine have never, and the stock system will never have bass in the fronts. The ones you can see in the door are tweeters, for the highs. And there are the mids, which don't carry bass, due to the fact there is a high/low pass filter [I am believing this, because I have yet to hear distortion]. Aftermarket speakers would be the only way to fix that.

The front speakers arent supposed to have bass, even if they are aftermarket ones. The smaller size makes them physically unable to produce it. If you want more bass, than your best bet is to get some subs.

Wha? I'm no audio guru, but my stock four speaker setup and the 8 speaker setup both had a little bass, and the sony'* I put in have like 10x the bass.

yes with the different setups that the aftermarket headunits have I can distort my front speakers(aftermarket) with bass. Now that being said. everyone is correct the fronts should be a midrange speaker and the tweeters being a highrange. The bass should be in the 6x9'* out back for the stock system

Agreed. Go to bestbuy sometime and have a listen to 5.25" speakers. They'll hit, sometimes hard, but they don't carry the deep bass, because like everyone'* said, it'* physically impossible.

Therefore, if your aftermarkets can't do it very well, there'* not much hope for your factory (not to say though that you'll never hear some bass from them, but you surely won't feel it without them distorting, not like your 6x9'*).
