Have you added a sense wire? https://www.gmforum.com/t278806/ This may correct your problem.

get a capacitor. even with the high output alternator and red top, the amp is still going to be pulling the power directly from your battery, so it will still have sudden drops in voltages. adding a capacitor will help that becuz then it will pull the power from the cap, not your battery, so your lights shouldnt dim. and is the 0 guage wire coming from the ground on your battery going to your amp? if so get rid of that. just find a good place in the trunk to ground the amp too. you dont want more than 3 feet of ground wire, as you lose power with much more. i have mine ground to the power antenna ground temporarily. still need to find a better place for it tho

Voltage drops is a on going problem with a few years, and I believe your one of those years. Billboost also did this mod, he tried several other methods, I believe he even changed the alternator with no improvement. The sense wire changed all of that. And takes less then $10 to do and perhaps a half hour of work.

I got my plug from rockauto and had them toss it in with another order. The should have a alt plug at your auto parts store. You need the 3 wire plug. Your alt will take a 3 wire plug, it's only using two of them.

It should help. I know a few that have used it, including me.
