Question Replacing front speakers on 2002 Bonney

I would like to see what experiences or suggestions other owners might have concerning replacing the front door speakers & tweeters in my 2002 Bonneville. It has the OEM AM/FM/Cassette/CD head.

Do you have the BOSE system? As far as actually replacing the speakers, its not to bad. You will want a plastic pry tool to pry on the bottom of the door. There are snaps all the way around the door so you will have to pop them out, then the door will be held in by two clips in the middle and a rail on the top of the door, you should be able to wiggle and lift the door up, then unplug the door harness. If you have a tweeter in the door, chances are the sound is crossed over so the highs go to the tweeter and mid bass to the driver. You would want to get a component set of speakers that have a separate woofer and tweeter for the replacement, not a full range speaker that has both. Depending on the speaker you replace yours with, the screws can come through the other side of the door before the speaker is tight, so watch for that. Mainly a problem in the back doors, but figured I would warn you still.
