Replace front?

Here is my question - I have a 96 SE and am looking to upgrade the stereo a little bit. I just swapped the 6x9's out for some basic pioneer 3 ways. I am wondering if it would be worth it to also replace the speakers in the front doors. I am not looking to thump myself out of the car, I just want a better clearer sound. Still running stock radio/tape, with 12 disc changer in trunk. Thanks guys.

Definately! I swapped all the speakers in my 98 for CerwinVega! all around and the difference is extreme! I have the Bose amp in my car so the Cerwin's wake up nicely. Now I need to swap the amp for a newer one to get rid of the loudness lockout. I can't stand it when I try to turn it up and it only goes to "so...you're really that OLD?"

Definatly switch. Pioneer is a great brand if you want to stick with one brand, but yeah switch cause compared to the aftermarket the stock speakers are crap.

Ok, I started looking around for speakers for my front doors. I am curious about component speakers. What are these all about? What is the amp/crossover looking piece that I see with all of these? Why are there rca cables involved? Do most come with the cables or not? Sorry for all the questions, but I am out of the stereo loop.
