Rearview mirror Rattle

Ok, so i installed my new auto-dimming mirror today, and it rattles like hell with my bass, my old mirror didnt rattle at all.. Anyone have any tips / tricks / ideas on how to fix this

the auto dim mirrors are not at stable as the standard mirrors....its a fact.....

is it the button for the autodim or is it the whole mirrror? my rattle was from the button which i jammed a little piece of rubberband between the button and the edge of the plastic where it went in and it fixed it, of coarse it would fall out if you pushed the button, but why would you ever push the button anyways. if it is the whole mirror good luck because that would be a lot harder to fix....suggestions for that is a new mirror

from what i can telll it is the whole mirror, it isnt quite tight enough on the glass mount and is rattling around

you can try a few things...putting some sort of glue that doesn't harden all the way, on/in the mount is one option.

Some people have gone as far as actually putting sound deadener on the mirror.

or go back to the old mirror.

Aaron..when I got the 97 it was insanely moving w/o bass.

I used one of Ron's business cards to shim in there a little and still to this day it's tight as heck.

its tight to the hand, but the bass hits the right harmonics and frequency somtimes and it make one HELL of a noise

Try the card thing... maybe I'm right.
