Power Ant-Aftermarket PIA!

Power Ant-Aftermarket PIA!
Trying to correctly connect a Metra Roadworks "Universal" power ant to replace factory original power antenna.
Installed wiring is Red/orange, green and black in harnass with coax. Saved the relay/solanoid off original and have wired through it and while reception is improved cannot automatically extend antenna.
Antenna wires are blue and red with red constant power and blue switched.
Cutting out the relay seems obvious. Is it?
Suggestions welcomed.

I once made the mistake of putting an aftermarket antenna on a car.
You should have all the wiring you need right in the plug from the factory.
Batt power
Signal
Ground
You may want to head to your local auto wrecking/salvage and get a GM replacement.. usually run around 20-30 for a good one.

I agree. Go to the wrecker and get one. I've done that to both of mine. But take it apart (drill the rivets) and clean it out. Re-grease it, and oil the mast. Then put it back together with screws and nuts and install it. It'll give you years of service.
