sub problem

sub problem
I've checked everything and found out my whole system works except my cap. There are no tears in it but it wont work.. Any way to fix it or do i buy another?

ah. sorry for the confusion.... I had meant my sub itself wasnt working, i hooked up my friends subs to my system and they thump, but when i hook my sub up i get nothing

Check the tinsel leads going from the back of the wire connection on the sub to the woofer cone and see if there are any tears or if they are no longer connected. Sometimes the subs excursion can tear em loose.
If those look good, then you probably fried your voice coils.

well if it works on your friends system and not yours you need to see if your amp works. is it turning on? will it power a different speaker?

You would be amazed at how many people adjust the gain incorrectly causing subs and speakers to blow. Im guessing that this is the case, but until he gets the sub out to look at it, we wont know for sure.
