keyless entry help needed
When I bought my car, both remotes worked. Then one day they just stopped. I figured, okay, the batteries must have both died (as unlikely as it is.) So I replace the batteries. They work good for a while, then just stoped again. Anyone have any experience fixing this problem?

On the other hand, if you're like me, you tend to use the same remote/key-ring every day while the spare just lies around, then when the daily one dies, you discover that the spare is also dead. But the spare could have died ages ago; you simply never noticed until the surviving one keeled over as well.
So anyway, if it starts working again when you put in a new battery, then that'* all the problem was. You might want to try buying the batteries (I assume it'* either a 2032 or a couple of 2016s, yes?) someplace else where the stock is a little fresher. I buy mine at Wal-Mart, where they seem to have a pretty good turnover of those sizes (and they're cheap, too).
Next time you have the transmitters opened up, buff up the contacts with a clean pencil eraser so that they're nice and shiny on the contact patches, and wipe your fingerprint grease off the batteries before putting them in.

You also need to resynch them when putting in new batteries, by holding Lock and Unlock for a few seconds. Check your owners manual for details...

This place just saved me 50 bucks or so. I changed the battery in my remote last weekend only to not have it work. I figured I toasted the chip and I'd have to get another. I saw this post yesterday and realized I had forgotten all about resynchronizing.
Just get near the car and hold down both the lock and the unlock buttons together for about 8 seconds. The lights will flash several times when the synchronization takes place.

Yeah, my after market didn't need any synching. Just replaced the MELTED fuses, and she worked fine. The stock one needed to be reprogrammed when I bought the FOB, and resynched when I disconnected the cars battery...
