Default I have never seen this before! My new 76 Pound Paperweight! ORION HCCA!

So i picked up my new Orion HCCA 12.4 today. I kinda know the kid i got it from, sold him my MA Audio HK2000D amp a while ago, which he blew instantly, LOL.

and a min after i picked it up i noticed it was seized up. i got it home and pulled it outta the box and took it all apart.

it took me a min to get the voicecoil out. but once i did, the gap was uneven, like a small gap on one side of the VC hole and a large gap on the other side. so the vc was getting pinched, thats why it wouldnt come out smoothly.

so i started looking it over and noticed the magnet had a crack ALL the way around it. the magnet is broke in half and slides side to side! LOL.

He said i could have my stuff back and he said i could keep the HCCA since its useless.
But i got a friend that lives about an hour away that is positive he can fix it. so HCCA for free!?! lol. What a shame tho, these things are amazing, just a couple screws and comes all apart to replace voicecoils. so its the last sub u would ever have to buy. they must not of thought this would happen!
4000+watt, 76 pound, $550+ paperweight!

when i first pulled it out. Makes my 15" Fi Q look like childs play!

I pull the voicecoil out and see the uneven spacing... WTF? never seen that before...

Theres the culprit! cracked all the way around! WOW

What a bohemoth!

inside of the voicecoil looks a little gouged but the copper winding is fine, im gonna measure it with a dmm. i think its salvagable

no its a new model. Its a HCCA 12.4. the newest ones have a black cone, this has a silver cone, but there is no differance between the two except cosmetic changes, like cone color. the old school HCCA'* r much differant.
