Oops, one went POP
 

Whats up guys. I have a Rockford 700s amp and I just bought 2 1800 watt Power Acousik subs. They were hittin good when I had them running one off each channel (each speaker is wired up in series) but then I tried to bridge them, and one popped. I think I bridged it wrong. Am I supposed to splice both of the speaker wires together (positive w/ positive~negative w/ negative) then put it on one positive from the right channel and one negative from the left channel? Because what I did was left the wires seperate( as if I was running it stereo) and put the right sub on the right[channel] positive and on the left[channel] negative, and the left sub on the left[channel] positive and the right[channel] negative, and one popped quick, then my fuse from my battery blew. I replaced the fuse and only one sub was hittin again, and I tried switching the left and right channels on my amp to make sure I didn't fry the amp, and it worked fine. So I definitly blew a sub. Was it my wireing problem? I'm thinking that I need to put the wires together and just use one positive and one negative from each of their respective sides, but I'm not quite sure, any feedback would be great. Thanx, Bret

you work at best buy?then you shoul've asked the installers,or had them do it.it dont cost employees that much.you shouldve kept the he2's

To run this amp bridged you must connect from the Left+ to the RT- with a minimum 4 ohm load. If your subs are 4 ohms & you wire them in parallel you will have a 2 ohm load that the bridged amp sees as 1 ohm & shuts down.
Check out Rockfords wiring wizard on their web site for connection diagrams.

The installers here dont know jack, they were the cause of most of my audio problems, and even a few electrical problems w/ my remote start. Therefore, I don't talk to them about any of it, that's why I asked here
