Default G/Fs Pioneer acting funny

It seems whenever my g/f hits a bump her pioneer stops feeding the music. Its not skipping becuase the cd time still goes. As far as she can tell there is no pop or anything when it goes out. She just stops hearing the music all together and then sometimes it will come right back sometimes it waits for another bump to correct it. Sounds like a loose connection to me, question is... where?

Does this happen with the radio too or just the cd player?

Check all of the connections once you pull it out. Even the antenna wire. Is there an inline fuse on the Head units power wire? Check that as well.

Either a piece of wiring has been mentioned, or one of the components inside the unit is bad.

What'* the faceplate like? Maybe it wasn't on right and was bumped somewhat to turn the unit off?

Nah Ive tried that with the faceplate, that didnt help.

Anyone have a way of getting Pioneer'* out without the little special tool? I tried two screwdrivers on each side, I cant get the damn thing out.

you need the keys supplied in the box from the factory to remove it from the dash... if you dont have those, you need to take the entire dash off and remove the mounting kit from the dash....

I say dont even bother untill you buy a new cd player!!!! If the units audio shuts off and the display keeps working... thats something internal.. if its newer, take it back to where you got it and complain till they give you a new one... if its older, start shopping.

that is, of course, unless you are running an external amp for all of the speakers... then it could be a loose connection somewhere near the amp.

but if not, you are probably skrewed... its a shame tho, I love my 6 year old deh-p920r!
