okay, I spent about 2-3 hours yesterday trying to find a suitable place to run my power wire for my amp through the firewall....needless to say I didn't find one.
Suggestions?

I ran mine in the front fender then through the passenger door'* boot.

You mean like water, no not yet but some silicon caulking should seal any gaps and still flex.
It was a bit of a pain in the as it always is but what I did is ran the wire up the fender which takes some patients, then I cut a small x in the boot with a very sharp box cutter. Next I took out the kick panel, the plastic piece under the dash, and the glove box so I'd have some leverage to pull the wire. Just be careful of the airbag wire it should be marked with a yellow tag behind the glove box. You don't want that going off in your face I would want you to get your wings that way.

heres how i did mine.....
First pop your hood and then get on the passenger side of your car and pull the carpet down thats held up under the dash. look for an opening that comes through the firewall, trust me, there is one. its a squarish/rectangular hole with a crapload of wires connected to a harness that comes through and runs back to the inside of the car. have somebody feed the power wire through that hole till you can see it from the inside. when its in, pull off the kick panel and the door "sill'*"? for both front and rear passenger side doors. run the wires under those little metal mounting things that hold the sill'* in place. then pull the seat forward a little and run the wire behind there and your done! my install is nice and clean, cant see a single wire. the new kicker amps have a removable shroud that hides all wires and connections. looks good

I like to hide things as much as I can so I found some holes that go from the engine compartment to the fender near the battery. and if you open your passenger door and have a light next to the battery you can see the light in the fender, there'* sort-of a tunnel at the top of the fender to run a wire. In older cars that had antennas on the fender it'* the same area they used to run the antenna wire. I also wanted to avoid running my power wire near the hood'* hing.

what I did was to run the power wire through the same gromet that the hood release cable goes through. You will need to pull the driver side kick panel and the underdash panel where the fuse center is and there will be a piece of sound insulation you will need to pull back. Then unscrew the hood release lever if you flip it over you should be able to see how to release the wire from the lever. If you can have someone help you have them move the cable so you can see where is goes into the firewall from under the hood. It is down underneath the brake resevoir, push the gromet the cable goes through into the car. Now you should be able to slide the gromet off off the hood release cable. The gromet itself is quite large but the hole for the cable is small you will need to cut the center out to make room for both your power wire and the hood cable ( I ran 4awg and could have even went larger). Then thread you power wire through and put the hood cable back through and push the gromet back into place ( I also sealed it up some with caulk to make sure there were no leaks). I also zip tied the power wire to the sturt tower brace, the entire wire is covered in split loom tubing as well. Aside from the big ANL fuse holder looking under the hood you really can't tell anything was added.
