Is there any reason for that? I went based on the measurements that montels gave me, where he listed the specs for the sides. Granted, I'm sure it wouldn't be a big deal for me to cut another length since I have a couple sheets of 11" wide MDF left over.

Segnate?

You don't need to put the subs in different chambers. The only way that would be beneficial is if you blew one sub you could still play the other one because it wouldn't be in double the airspace.

The guy who sold me the subs said that I'll be fine using a common chamber as long as I'm running them off a mono amp.

I will, however, run a brace where the separator would be.

There is a reason why every good sealed prefab box and custom made sealed box is segnated... not 100% sure of why, but im sure it has to do with bass cancellation, and keeping the subs from fighting each other

That'* like saying the air vacuum when a sub has an excursion will be fighting the sub. There is a problem if you run a dual channel amp, and that'* the primary reason why prefabbed boxes are chambered like that. With a dual channel amp, the subs don't always play exactly the same, and that'* where the problem comes in.

If the guy who competes in SQ competitions and is a regional promoter out there, and also managed to take home the state SQ championship with these subs is telling me that I'm going to be fine with a shared airspace, then I'm fairly certain he knows what he'* talking about. If i had a two channel amp, that would be a different story.

Common chamber is fine.

Only thing divorced chamber is good for IMO is not having to brace the box in a typical application.

And I would NEVER build a box a certain way because prefab'* are built like that. Those boxes are the biggest jokes in audio.

One thing I have heard is that you can have loading issues with common chamber if one driver is closer to the port than the other.
