Default My Audio Setup - - So Far...

Friday i built a box for my subs, i am waiting for my "new" one to be shipped. The box i built i made it big enough to where if i wanted i could squeeze 12"* in there. I was pretty proud of my self with the box i built. i don't know if you can tell from the pics but it does have a slight bacward slant to it. The amp wire i bought is too short so i don't know what i am going to do about that because i only need about 1 1/2 feet more. and the only thing i can find is the entire kit of wire which costs $30. I can't get it all wired up until i figure out what im going to do about that. I am looking for some 6x9s right now, im thinking aboutjust getting some $30 wal-mart specials. My amp is an 800 watt Bridgable 2ch Profile. And the sub(*) i have are 10" Eclipse 8710.4 400 watt subs. And of course my HU, Sony Xplod, that i bought from a friend for $30, heck of a deal. Now the pics....

This is the box, as you can see i only have one speaker in it at the moment. Once i get some more cash i am going to smooth it all out and paint it, and if i can find one put a big Pontiac logo in between the speakers. And hopefully thats where i am going to mount the amp.

My Sub(*)... this one isn't in the greatest shape but it has some sentamental value, so it aint going anywhere.

My Amp...

My HU...

Well What do you think?

Here'* what you do, goto your local car audio store... there has to be one somewhere close. Buy 2' of 4guage... **** if you can't find any, I'll send you some for the cost of shipping.

Put the short piece you buy between the battery and fuse holder, that way you can use the rest between the fuse and trunk.

Looks good so far. Those Profile amps are actually quite good but I'm not feeling the head unit. Oh well, you said it was cheap and if you're happy with it then that'* what matters.

Does the box have a divider that separates it into 2 different enclosures.
It will sound lots better if it is because the pressures from one sub won't cancel out the others

It will sound ok without one until you put two subs in there.. lol But seriously, dividing is a good thing.

What are the final dimensions of the box you made? It looks HUGE.. bigger than mine! Could be because the sub is only 10"... :?

It'll sound better once you get another sub in there, that'* a HUGE box for 1 10" of that caliber. The divider between boxes isn't necessary, but a lot of people do it to keep each side sealed, so one sub will sound good on it'* own, and it makes the box stronger.
