Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

Default Low Pass Filter.

I was just wondering what the best setting would be for my amps LPF. It has a setting for 70Hz, 100Hz, and off. I am thinking 70Hz...my buddy I bought it from had it at 100, but when listening to a couple songs with the volume up the sub won't barely hit on some parts. I think it is because the freqs are too high for the sub to handle at that volume. When the volume is turned down it will work fine on those songs.

so 70Hz is optimal then, thank you. What exactly will I notice different? Will my speakers now handle all freqs higher than 70Hz?

the low pass filter allows ONLY the frequencys below the setting to be played through the sub. 60-80 is optimal depending on music preference
