Default Pioneer HU info...

Hey all...wanting to change out HU for several reasons. Has anybody had any experience with this unit??

The 5700 isn't too bad, as long as you don't mind the flip out screen. What mostly kills me is the lack of ATLEAST 4V RCA output. Obviously, you can add this on though, but for a price.

Otherwise, for a person that does just the normal stuff, good HU. Get the Processor (AVG-VDP1) if you are into audio any and make yourself even happier.

For $330, you can't really beat the price!

You don't NEED high voltage preouts, it just depends what you're using it for. If you're hooking up low wattage amps to low ohm speakers, yeah, you should get a voltage increaser (can't remember the real name) which isn't that expensive. Really, you don't even need to go to amps and other speakers; IMO at regular volumes the stockers do pretty well.

higher voltage preamp outputs are there to reduce the amount of noise that can be picked up while going from the front to back of the car. In the vast majority of systems, preamp voltage is not the weakest link and a difference would never be noticed.
