lock pull off wire??

I'm ordering my components on wed. I did some scouting of the door removal and it seems fairly easy until I get to the part of pulling the lock pull off the wire. I didnt fuss with it too much, but theres not much room in there. Is there a specific trick or what. I've read the tech section so no need to link me there. If this were my old car I'd just wing it, but do to my love affair with my bonnie I dont want to hurt her, not even a little bit. :thumbup2:

Are you reffering to the manual control of the locks? The black sliding part? If you are, you can lift up the edge towards the front of the car while pushing down on the orange part (the part towards the back) all with one hand and it will pop right off. There is just a clip that holds it on to the linkage and by twisting it in that way you can pop it off.

This is from a 93. It has a built-in "clip" on the back just forward of the orange part on the front. This simply clips onto the rod. To remove, just pry from under the front part (ribbed section where your fingers make contact when locking/unlocking).
