Heres my first system in my first car. Im 17 and my friend and i hooked it up ourselves. He is a Pyle dealer so i paid very little money for the sub amp and wires.

Blue RCA'*, Red power wire, black ground wire, small black wire is bass control, then one other skinny blue wire is amp turn on/off

the box isnt secured, but it doesnt slide around since it barely clears the top of the back of my trunk, plus the boxes carpet grips my trunks carpet really well. Its very hard to slide the subs around, you need to wiggle them side to side and tilt it back to get it out.

umm your fuse should be within a foot of your battery and apparently its in your trunk :? definately a fire hazard because if it does short out its most likely going to do it before the trunk, like in the engine compartment or being cut by the firewall...........also many other situations. dangerous stuff if you dont fuse it close to the battery.

well since my system is 1000 watts and the fuse is something like 6000 watts shoudnt i have no problem?

It'* not 1k watts. your fuse should equal your amp draw and be within 18 inches (1 foot pref.) of your battery.

umm if you get a fuse that is way over what your amp draws its gonna defeat the purpose of a fuse. the fuse is supposed to burn to protect you, and if you get too high of a fuse you will lose that protection.
