It should work.

Close all vehicle doors.
Insert the key into the ignition.
Hold down the power UNLOCK button on the driver’* door panel-continue to hold down until instructed to release in step 9.
Perform steps 5 through 8 in fairly rapid succession.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine).
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Release the power unlock button on the door panel. The vehicle will lock and unlock the doors automatically.
Hold down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter simultaneously until the door locks and unlocks. This step may take up to 30 seconds.
Repeat step 10 NOW for each additional transmitter (including any existing transmitters).
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to exit the transmitter programming mode.

If you decide to go with the remote starter, get a reputable shop to install a decent brand. Stay away from the cheap Bulldog stuff.

I thought you had to use a jumper wire at OBD2 port and then program fob remotes on the Pk Ave...anyone got that link?

I don't see the difference between a PA, a Bonneville, or a S10. The procedure'* the same. If it didn't work for him the first time, then either A, he did it wrong, or B, something is wrong with the system.
