Default any stock cd players play CD/RW?

Do any years of Bonneville play CD/RW cd'*? the reason I ask is because I installed my factory cd player in the Aurora again today and it plays CD/RW'*... Never noticed it before until now. I don't have access currently to either Bonneville to try it out. Have any of you successfully played a CD/RW? Is it possible because of the model year (2001) or is it just my cd player?

My 95 one does. I don't think 93 did though.

Correct me if I'm wrong... but every CD player will play CD/RW'* given that they are burned with audio tracks in .CDA (CD Audio) format, which is the format that tracks are on when you purchase them from a store.. It'* when you burn the MP3'*, WMA'* and compressed formats like that, that compatibility becomes an issue.

My factory CD player in my 90 GP definately will not play CD-R'*/CD-RW'*. Our '00 SSEi has no problem playing them however, and neither does the '02 GTP or '04 MC. I have a few older portable cd players and cd-rom drives that won't play them either.

I went back to stock because I missed having steering wheel controls, the stock look, speed compensated volume, onstar, cassette AND cd players(I actually used it a few times. ) and I got tired of removing the face plate off my pioneer all the time..
Additionally, it voided parts of my warranty because the functionality of the scan tools was compromised with the removal of the stock cd player. It'* integrated into the DATA BUS II system on the vehicle and the dealer told me if they had to scan for errors the removal of the cd player could possibly interfere with the repair process. I'd rather keep my GMPP warranty fully intact.
