Default where to run power wire

hey, i feel dumb asking this, because it seems like it'd be obvious, but im askin anyway. i am going to add a system to my 96 SE, and i can't figure out the best place to run power wire through. I have tried removing the rubber boot that covers the transmission gear selector cable, but have had no luck. is there a better place?

I wish I had good pics of the location, I've done so many cars recently and never taken a pic of the power wire pass through.

Ok, if you open the hood, and look at the firewall on the driver'* side, wait... this is where you've already looked. That IS the hole you wanna go through, there'* plenty of space, you can even fit 4Ga through there WITH the rubber plug in place.

Just leave the rubber in there, and use a coat hanger to pull the wire through, with the wiring going from the cabin TO the engine bay, that way of course you're running less of the wire through the hole.

Maybe take a pic of what you're talking about and we can see if it'* the same hole...

This one is on the driver'* side on the firewall, right under the windshield, that'* the gear selector cable going through it

This is backed off, the other image shows up close, you can't see the tranny cable in this one, but it'* there

So is this what you were talking about? cuz it seems to be the best place. let me know. thanks

if you must run it down the driver side that will work.

IMO, passenger side is much more logical and makes everything look neater (in the engine bay, and in the trunk because wire is EASY to hide in the trunk)
