IPOD connection interface kit problems.
 

I just bought an Interface connection Kit from www.peripheralelectronics.com
Model ISGM73 included 2000 Pontiac Bonneville.

The instructions indicate that I should connect the interface module to the CD Changer wire harness located in the trunk.

My car unfortunately came with out CD Changer. I look over the trunk and I could not find any connector that will fit the wiring that came with the kit.

I contacted Pheripheral Electronics, they indicated that the CD Changer wire should still be in the trunk.

I am a very technical person, I am sure I will be able to locate it right away, but is just not there. Any help will be appreciated.

Did you pull the carpet back? On the passenger side of the trunk IIRC. I'll warn you that interface from Peripheral is hit or miss on quality. I installed one for a friend in his Jeep Liberty. The first one had many quality and audio issues. They are very cheaply built.

Luckily, the second one worked better.

if the car didnt have the CD changer your screwed....no cable, or anything to make it work

what wires do you need to access on the CD changer harness anyway......i have done some 00+ Cd changer research and can possibly help

I find it strange that Pontiac didn't include the harness even if the car was shipped with out the CD changer. I know the Impala's have the harness there even if they were shipped with out..

GM may have included an unused harness in some cars but there is no harness in 2000+ Bonnies unless it came with the changer or it was added. For a while, there was a kit available to add the harness because the CD changer was also available as a dealer installed option. There are no more to be found however.

I am also working on adding an iPod to my 2001 Bonneville. I have purchased adapter harnesses and a PAC iPAC-OEM adapter. I don't ever expect to have a CD changer so I don't see a need to hook up my iPod in the trunk. With this in mind, I am working on making an adapter that plugs-in in series with the Dock-N-Lock connector and the head unit. I have been told that there may not be room for this and that the flex harness is fragile. It may not work but I am looking into it. If it does work, I'll have pics and post them.

If you are really technically savvy you may be able to connect your adapter with information available in various posts in the last month or two.

I know where to connect the ground, battery, as well as the PPL data from the wiring harness at the RCDLR (Remote Control Door Lock Receiver).
However, I still don't know where to connect the audio lines if there is a close area to connect them in the trunk.

The only way the audio lines would get to the trunk is through the harness you don't have. Access is under the dash. I believe that post tells you the connector you are looking for (I don't remember off the top of my head). You need to add three wires that don't currently exist. There is a connector on the other end of the ribbon cable (that comes from the Dock-N-Lock connector) that you need to add terminals to.
