Default Ipad

I have been snooping around other forums, And see that Ipad installs are becoming huge!!

Its not like I havent tore apart a dash on a 00-05 chevy truck, hell I had a 15 inch laptop monitor in a truck !

I may attempt putting an Ipad into the tow truck come spring.. guess I just have to start sourcing my parts from Craigs list !!

And now with OBDII support haha great !!

I have a friend who put one in a new gti, added one of those verizon wireless boxes for internet. Very cool setup.

Seeing as its going in a Diesel.. I guess adding some sensors is an idea as well

I need.....

Boost
Oil Pressure (On Dash)
EGT (Exhaust Gas Temp)
Speed (On Dash)
RPM (On dash)
Trans Temp (On Dash)
Intake Air Temp

I am pretty sure it will read everything that is already displayed on the dash now ...
Almost every Built app I have found is for Gas engines... so piecing together for a diesel will be mandatory

You'll have to see if there'* a app that allows you to scan the car. That would rock. I want to get a android display I can mount in my car so I can run torque. Way better then a aeroforce.

They have an App for Iphone4 and The Ipad !!

I have started putting things together Ideas and plans mainly

But I am going to do a full 5.1 Dolby system.

I know I can get 4 13 inch slim JL subs behind the seat ! Will mean modding the overhead console to fit a single din center channel !!

I figure cost,

Subs 500.00 x4=2000
Amp Subs 750x2 =1400
Components likely around 850.00 (Infinity Kappa)
5.1 Dolby amp 700
Ipad (found one New 3g 64gb) 500.00 Unlocked
inter face another 700.00

Damn thats a lot of scratch LOL.... Maybe I will stick with my 10'* haha

Not my cup of tea for a Mod, but for all the work, I'd go Inspiron Duo. Full Windows 7 Pro OS and the tons of apps, flip it up and around and it'* either a laptop with a REAL keyboard, or touch pad. It makes iPad look like a toy. A washed up, very expensive, Mac dependent toy. 64 gig???.....pffffft. Duo comes with some nice features, video and sound you can actually make choices with.
