radio display blank
I am new to Bonneville'* and this site. I just picked up a nice 2000 model and am going over it to make it nicer. I was told about the car by a friend that works at a Pontiac dealership. His friend, who is a supervisor there, was cleaning up a used 2000 and it was for sale. He had intentions of putting a CD player in it instead of the tape player stereo. When he located a used original pontiac CD/tape unit and installed it the display was always blank. No light up at all. He reinstalled the original radio and it too had no led display. I don't know if the original radio had this problem to begin with. I find it unllikely that 2 stereo units would have the same defect. Is there some other car related item that would cause this? The tape unit is now in the car and I also have the CD unit as well. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks Bill
