Default MP3 problems

My 2003 Bonnie has problems playing MP3s. Especially when it is hot the sound and skipping is the worst. Is there a real aftermarket radio/CD player that would allow me to retain the soft red lighting that I love so much about my Bonneville. I only play my own MP3 cds. IS there a MP3 factory cd player available that will fit?

there are aftermarket cd players that match the factory look in your car. If you want a red look, id check into alpine, kenwood, jvc, or sony. Factory radios and mp3 cd'* dont really mix. It is harder for them to read and because of that, the eye or lazer on the radio has to work harder and over time it loses its abillity to do so thus bringing you to the point you are at now. Aftermarket radios have come to the point where it is pretty standard protocall to read mp3 format however; there are a few out there that actually excel at it. I know that my fiancee'* panasonic radio reads mp3 to the extent that you can actually move through out the disc in catagories and folders sort of like an ipod. As far as factory radios playing mp3, im not sure as to whether or not ac delco, fujitsu, or any other factory radio manufacturer has made that stride. You have options out there. My best advice is to do your research online (not from a sales guy at a big box store because they dont really know car audio that well) and dont hesitate to keep this thread going with more questions. Sorry for the delayed response. my laptop was being repaired. p.*- my 2000 bonneville has more of an amber color on the dash display. I put an Eclipse cd 7000 in my car. I love it 5 volt preout ipod, sirius, hd radio, time alignment, and every other feature you could ask for. It is definitely a high end radio and looks natural in my dash. Just my opinion

I have a JVC KD-G140 I got at WalMart for $69.99 of $79.99 (can't remember which) that plays my MP3 discs, has title scroll on it, and an MP3 Jack for Ipods as well. It lights up red.
