Default factory radio problem

does anyone else have this problem i have the stock radio in my 98 se not a Bose or anything but when i turn on my headlights or marker lights the bass in the radio increases significantly. i turn the dimmer switch down and the bass decreases could this be a head unit problem or a wire crossed from the factory

Same problem with mine, does yours have the equilizer on it. if so, i think I've figured out what was wrong with mine. possibly a short in the radio itself. Everytime I move the highest treble one with the lights on, the speakers get really loud with alot of bass or get real quiet and no bass. With the lights off, I can move the highest trebble selector freely without the volume going up or down.

yep figured mine out went to the junk yard and got a factory cd player for it it dosent do it now must have been the head unit. if thats not an option for you turn down the dash lights and that will help. thats what i did with mine and it saved my speakers
