Default Im asking you for advice! LOL

So Xtreme, MONTELS, and Venom what is the largest size enclosure i can fit in the trunk of my 1992 SE? My buddie has a 5 cu ft box in the trunk of his Grand am but he took out his rear seat to slide it in from the back. I cant do it that way since there is stamped steel behind our seats. How big can i go before i cant slide it threw the trunk opening? I got a 3 cu ft box at the moment.

Also... since i got some of my amps fixed and i will be running a larger amp, how do i set my gain with a DMM?

Thanks guys.. I promise i wont freak out on you this time.

Can't say I've ever owned an older Bonneville, so I really don't know what the biggest size is that you could fit in there. I would try making one out of cardboard first and seeing if it fits.

Measure your trunk opening.

As for the gain setting, Take the square root of the RMS wattage of the amp, multiply it by the impedance you're running it at, and you have the AC voltage you want to see. Put your DMM probes in the speaker leads with the subs unhooked, play a 50hz tone, and adjust the gain until you see the voltage you want.

I know electricity, not sound dynamics. LOL
But lets look at the situation. The trunk is an enclosed area. Pretty airtight except the trunk access in the middle of the rear seat. My advice is mount the subs on the rear deck, figure the total area of the trunk which you have covered with insulating material, figure the port size for that area coming out the trunk access hole.

Do I win anything?

BTW, I really did do that except no port. !0" square Kicker, Alpine 400 Watt Mono bolted to my trunk lid.
