Garmin StreetPilot c340 (Mounting Options)
I'm finding some great deals on these online (<$200 new) and was wondering what other mounting options were available to me besides the standard suction cup on the windshield. I'd love to do some sort of custom job to make it look more integrated into my dash somehow. Not really wanting to cut into the dash but just a better looking mount. This model has text to speech so I wouldn't have to have it up on the dash necessarily since it will be calling out street names.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The unit should also come with an adhesive disk that fastens to the suction cup then double face tapes to your dash.
You could also buy the weighted mount like this.

Keep in mind that all GPS is "line of sight". In other words it has to be able to see the sky and must be seen by a minimum of three Satalites in order to work.
The signal cannot be recieved through solid objects such as the roof etc.
If your are going to mount it anywere else, Other than the windshield area you have to buy an external antenna like this.

Have you thought about buying one of the Nuvi ' * ?
They are less bulky then the Street Pilots.
Hope this helps,
Dutch

It is definitely is a little bulky but I would really like text-to-speech (TTS) and this one was the most affordable. I may wait and see if the Nuvi 260 drops in price any. It looks like that is their cheapest model that offers TTS.
