HU w/usb port
 

Has anyone tried hooking a usb Hard drive to the usb port? I'm thinking it would work, it's just a giant thumb drive you could hide in the center console and get a power inverter to power it?

Are you talking about Plugging a Thumb drive into a USB Capable Head unit?

or something else?

Yeah i meant hard drive, sorry, this cold is killing me.

I have tried to get a 40GB USB Laptop hard drive to work with mine. So far no go.

But i have a few ideas.

I know it can work, because my Head unit says it supports the 20,30 & 40 GM Hard drive MP3 players. I just need to find the right format to format the drive in and get a better USB Power converter for it.

Right now im using 1GB Pens drives i got for $11 each :)

I would suggest looking on the manufactures website for your Head unit to make sure it can read that big of a Hard rive first ;)

true, even if it didn't work in the car, it won't go to waste
