Default New Amp! Slowly making a bulletproof System

Im picking up a almost new Memphis Audio 16-pr1.1000 for $120
Ive hard it is one of the most powerful amps in its class. And can be ran hard for hours without getting hot thanks to the large heatsink and cooling fan.
Now i need a new deck, RCA (patch) cables, and upgrade to something better than my type R, or maybe buy another one.

Here are the ratings for that amp.

300x1 @ 4 ohm
600x1 @ 2 ohm
1000x1 @ 1 ohm

I certainly wouldn't call it one of the most powerful amps in its class. For a 1 ohm stable amp, its actually on the weaker side. I'm not trying to bust your bubble, just trying to be realistic. The Alpine Type R can handle 500W @ 2 ohm, which means this amp will be perfectly suited for one Alpine Type R unless you ran two of them in a 1 ohm configuration. I've always heard its better to overpower your sub than to underpower it. That'* your call to make, but I personally would run only one sub off of that amp.

Thats not what i was really trying to say... Its strong for a 1000w max amp. And very clean, linear power. really good reviews

In that regard, yes it is a very good amp. For a 1000W 1 ohm stable amp, I too have read that its pretty good.
