How many watts?

OK..I just ordered two 12" TS-W306DVC Pioneers. Their RMS is 400-500w and max at 1000w each, and my amp is 700w max and 350w RMS if i wire it down to 2 ohms. Im a little confused on on how much power i will be pushin? Maybe I need another amp? Help me out here. I would also appreciate it if someone could tell me if I should put these subs in a sealed or a ported box. Thanx

Check the specs on the boxes of each product for both questions. As far as 2 ohms and the power it is usually about doubled when you wire for 2 ohm if thats the 4 ohm rating you gave us.

the boxes will depend on what type of music you listen to and what your bass preferences are.

rock or rap or something else

a LOT of bass or just something to add...

well i listen to rap, some techno :D ,or anything with a beat, i like low deep bass. Some websites say that ported and bandpass are not recommended. Then some say portred is recommended.thanx for the help.

a well tuned ported box can sound amazing, but its a lot of work and ported boxes are much larger.

I listen to a lot of rap with 2 sealed boxes and 2 cheapo subs...I think it sounds pretty good.

I like sealed boxes but have a wide range of music taste. Build a sealed boxat the max recommended or just a bit (10-15%) bigger than recommended and that will help you out.
