Amp Power Wire 1995 bonne SE
I have looked at all the install threads that I can find here, and cannot find a power wire passenger side route on my 95 SE. All the ones from similar years all have easy work a rounds that mine does not. The main wiring harness doesn't even have that extra tab on top. It'* all plug :(. If anyone knows a safe way to get the power from trunk to battery, please chime in. I am the kinda guy to get the shakes without his subs. lol

I have an 05 but needed real power from battery to trunk. I slipped a 8 gauge wire under the positive battery post and hooked it to one side of a Ford style stater solenoid bolted to the frame behind the backseat. Other side of the solenoid goes to a fuseblock, Tapped a smaller wire from my rear cig lighter/DC power adapter that is "keyed", to trip the starter solenoid. Plenty enough power for my sub amp, and dual compressors that feed my air ride system.

All I need is a well placed hole in the firewall, but there doesn't seem to be one. Iv seen slightly older Bonneville installs, and there is a tab of plastic above the main wiring harness, but mine is all block. That was the only sensible install iv seen so far. I was considering running it down the frame under the car, but the frame is fairly solid. I don't even know exactly where the fuel filter is yet. I have to go down the passenger side, cause my wire was cut for a 88 sprint, and will not reach if rerouted. I could just go an spend loot on a new wire, but after all the BS and $$$ my Bonneville just put me through (about $2500) I would rather not. I'm scared to drill through the firewall because of all the airbag etc that'* on the passenger side . I am thinking about using a dremel to cut a hole beside or above (whatever appears more convenient) the wiring harness, and feeding the wire through there. I will be able to see whats behind it once i remove the wiring harness. Then I don't know, maybe silicone to seal it up?

I dont know if the older body styles are the same but when i upgraded my main wire from my alt to my battery, I found that the origional wire had a gromet directly behind the alt going into the firewall on the passenger side. maybe you should try to go in that way with a step bit

Well, I have my power wire routed through the fender to the rubber boot that connects to the door. I poked a small hole in that boot and routed the wire through that to the passenger compartment. Then I ran the wire through the trim just below the doors just under the edge of the carpet. Then, right at the backseat, I routed the wire just below the back of the seat. When I got to the little "port" I routed the wire behind the cloth and drilled a hole just below the little plastic door. Then I routed the wire through the hole. BTW, My car is a 97 SE

Ive got a 95 also and how I did the power was connect to the battery, run it up the front of your coolant over flow to the strut tower bar and zip tie it to the back of the bar. now with it being on the opposite side of the car you can take it through the rubber grommet that your throttle cables come through the fire wall.

Yes, but my issue is my wire was cut for a 2 door 1988 Chevy sprint, it will reach just nicely, but ONLY via the passenger side. I'm sure gergman can vouch that the 95 passenger side routing thru the "main" electrical block into the car does not have the plastic fin or whatever at the top, and there fore leaves no room to drill through. I'm scared to drill through my firewall on the passenger side because of all the air bag stuff located there. I am thinking i will just grab my dremel, and cut a hole in and around that wiring block and just silicone the crap out of it. This car seems to want to make everything i want it to be hard to do, and I'm beginning to take pleasure in forcing it to anyways! lol

Yea man, that seems like what will have to happen for sure. Its a shame that there wasn't an easy way to put one stinking wire into the car.
