Rear window rattle after sub install
I know how to take care of it once i find it, thats not my question. I was just wondering if anyone had a similar rattle right after install. It comes from the very back of the rear deck I tried applying pressure and it didn't stop it so the panel isn't the culprit. I Just haven't had a chance to rip out the back seat and rear deck to investigate. Just wondered if it was a common rattle or not. Thanks guys

Thanks for the move. I was going for more 2000+ responses thats why i originally posted in that forum (not trying to sound rude or anything, just explaining myself I don't want you guys to think I'm retarded or something). Best I can figure its probably right where the rear deck meets the rear window. Hopefully I can thoroughly investigate tomorrow and i'll update.

I've had a similar vibration from both my '02 and '04. In each case, the solution was the same. This may or may not help, but I found the carpeted trim panel which has the speaker grilles mounted to it was rattling against the body at the very rear edge. I took it out and applied foam weather strip (the kind used on homes with one adhesive side) to the underside of the panel (not the carpeted side) along the most rear edge. This way, when it was re-installed it presses the panel upwards against the body more tightly. I think I used 1/2" but even a little thicker would be good.
Sorry I don't have pics. One of those things I wish I had done at the time. Give it a try. I'm curious to see if this fixes it for you as well.

Thanks I appreciate the advice. I think I'm having the same problem. I'll stop and get some of that weather striping tomorrow before I rip out the back seat. I'll try to take some pics too. Maybe this is a semi-common rattle after all?

Sorry its been so long but I just got a new sub and didnt have a chance for a while to update this thread but yea it was the rear deck hitting the rear window. My temporary fix is a couple polishing towels I had laying around I rolled up and stuffed between the deck and the window (I was surprised at how much of a gap there was!) Once I get some more time I will fix it properly but time is something I dont have a lot of so I will update again with the proper fix and probably some pics!
Thanks for all the help guys
