you say you had to run a filter to ge rid of your noise. i assume you have run your rca'* down the drivers side of the car(the factory alternator runs down the passenger side). i had the same prob and then found this out after chasing my tail for ever. i still had some noise but when i made a separate ground for the stereo it was gone. i have 2 batteries in the tire well so i just used a mtx grounding lug there. these are great by the way and i have never seen anyone else make them but they work very well and accept 0/1 gauge wire.

Mine has just started to pick up a stray signal when making hard turns I am thinking that a reprogram should take care of this, Besides that I haven't had any other problems this is a great unit and would recommend it to anyone wanting to keep the steering wheel controls with a aftermarket headunit

Default The Thread that won't die!

Worst case scenario is to read the owners manual for better detail

The fuse box under the bonnet (hood)
Accessory fuse has two positions
Rearward (i think) is always on circuit
Forward (ditto) is switched with ign

HowY, If you get the metra harness GMRC-04 you can still retain the chime, retained accesory power, and you'll still have the alarm to prevent you from locking your keys up. Really no need to hard wire either. I have an 02 SE and it works fine for me.

I didn't notice what model year you drive or trim level, my bad, so maybe this won't apply at all to you. But if it does Goodluck.

This install was done nearly a year ago...

the product you mention was not available at that time...

The door lock will NOT operate if the key is in the ign...

And kinda glad to loose the door chime since the "low washer"
alarm peeves me in the cloverleaf'*...

But thanks for the heads up and the post of tho'* new to the 2k+ models

Default about bose install

i have a 2000 ssei with a bose sytem and a ribbon adapter. How will this work for me. I would have to bypass the bose amp wouldn't I?? To use this adapter. I dont want to bypass the amp i would like to use it and not screw it up cause I'm not gonna have this car forever and I'm sure I wont leave the cd player with it when I get rid of it. I'm not quite sure what to do. Would I be able to buy a new cd player that has no on board amp and just hook it up. Could someone please direct me what to do and where to go to find out. I called car domain and they said peripheral does not make a part for the bonneville with the bose and ribbon cable combo yet. I dont really care how much I spend I just dont want to mess up factory wiring. any assistance would be great thanks

Hey Nate, Give these guys a call.

Lafayette Radio Ph.# 1-800-721-2005.

Web address. lafayetteradio.com

Also try Metraonline.com

These are the two places I contacted and they hooked me right up.

Maybe try metra first then call lafayette radio.

Hey I did call those guys and got the exact part I needed. It'* a little rough trying to find room in there with the cd player to fit all that wiring and that little box but I did it. Had to cut out the right inside, just a black chunk that is useless. Dont know if any of you have had troubles installing a aftermarket in the bose system that has a Ribbon cable hook up instead of a 24 or 32 pin harness whatever it is. But if so call Lafayette radio and order the part number GMOS-09. You still have your chimes and all but of course no steering wheel control. It works great for me except I am getting some funky noise out of the rear door speakers like a high pitch freq. or something. The subs sound great but there so loud sometimes I can barely hear the words to the song and I have it set at -6 on my radio better turn the amp down huh. I really wish I could have bypassed the bose amp cause I think the pioneer head unit would have put more wattage into the speakers and made them sound better and louder than the bose amp can. My opinion, anyways yeah if you need that adapter it'* worth it at 99 bucks, I think so.
