odd sub probem
ok, i have a power acoustik amp and 2 RF p2'*, i recently ported the box, the p2'* are rated for .65 cu f sealed, 1.25 ported, unfortunately my box is righ tin the middle at 1. anyway they have been sealed for awhile, i ported them, retuned them, they sounded fine, then over a few days they just kinda seemed to fade out in the bass depertment, i can still hear the bass, they still move, and they still push air, but i just feel any bass, i tried tuning them again but i cant figure otu what it is, i dont tihnk anything'* blown

You probably didnt seal up the box good enough, and its leaking a little, which would change the freaquency response of it and take away some spl. turn them up a little and check and see if it is leaking anywhere.

If they still pump about as hard and everything else is the same, you might be getting cancellation, which is when 2 sound waves hit each other, they will either entirely discentigrate, or at least lose some energy, depending on the angle they hit at.

And exactly what did you do to port them. DId you just put a hole in the box and leave it blank or what? Did you use any kind of sound deadening material inside of the box?

the box came with with a hole sealed with a cover that you can remove and a tube that you tirm to the specified length and insert into the port, as the p2 manual specified the tube is trimmed to 7 3/8

although i wonder if since my box is a little smaller than the p2 wants for ported, if the ports tube should be a different length, know if it should be longe,r shorter, or dont matter?

ok here we go
that box is to small for those subs.
that box is not tuned properly and more than likely has chuffing due to port noise
is the box firing towards the front of the car or towards the rear
if its towards the front turn it around and fire it towards the rear.
or
put the plug back in till you know how to build a correct ported enclosure.

actually the subs are firing up and the ports firing back, the ports are on top and i didnt want then blasting straight at my 6x9s to avoid sitortion, ill try sealing it back up, but i wonder, what of the fact that at first it was fine but then the bas kinda faded away
