Default radar detectors

I'm looking into buying one. I'm looking at a Cobra for a little over $100, can't recall the brand, it was at Best Buy. I'm looking for opinions on these, is this a good brand to use? Are they easy to hook up? I'm NOT letting Best Buy hook it up, if I have to I'll have my uncle do it, but if it'* not that hard I'll do it myself.

My SLE has the perfect spot for it, the cubby hole on the roof console, it has a 12volt plug too...its saved me from a ticket several times too..but they don't work too good with instant on that most of the cops around here use...i think mine is a whisltler, i've had it 3 years and have only been stopped once
