Last week I had spring break (woohoo). So, on Monday I went to Best Buy and bought a 760 watt Pioneer amp (woohoo). Took me most of Monday afternoon and some of Tuesday morning to figure it out, it was my first amp install. (no woohoo). I got it working. Then I went to one of my buddies house and noticed that he had a Volfenhag (german) 12" 500watts RMS sub just sitting in his basement. So I ask him if I can hook it up to my amp. So we do. It sounds good (woohoo). I asked him if I could test it for a day, if I liked it I would buy it, he let'* me (woohoo). So, I decided to make a box for it, and it turned out good (woohoo). I hook everything up, wired it in bridged on the amp and series on the sub (dual 4 ohm voice coils, woohoo). So, the next day I ask him if I can buy it from him. I was just joking and asked him if he would take $30 for it. He replied with a yes (woohoo). Anywho, it sounds great for what I need (woohoo). Has about 350-400watts going to it RMS, which is most definitely a bonus (woohoo). I will try to get some picture up later this week. Let me know what you think.

this is a noob question coming from a noob who is new to the installation of aftermarket audio equipment.....i was wondering you (beckstyle) hooked your new amps up to your factory stereo, if you dont have your factory stereo anymore, do you know how to hook it up to the stock bonneville radios...........do you use a speaker to line level converter, or is there pins on the back of the Delco Pontiac radios that can accomidate a line level out put, thanks oh yeah i have a 96 modle year radio, in my 92 SE, its a (7 band qualizer, CD, non BOSE) head unit. My goal is to ad some power to the base.

you will need line level converters, they tap into the factory wiring and have RCA plugs that them go to the amp. You run speaker wires from the amp to the speakers

you can also buy an amp that has speaker level inputs built in. THis would eliminate the need for a converter.

how good is the quality of this install (the coverting of and amplified signal to a line level) speaking in sound quality? if i were to adjust the bass on my 7 band equalizer, would it increase the bass in the sub or subs? thanks for the info guys

it would raise the bass of the speakers and the sub but you could get an amp with a remote gain control (lots have them) and that would let you adjust your sub separately.
