Got to work on it right away.

Installed the antenna in the grill. I moved it down a bit from there, it was hitting the hood.

Got it sitting on my dash for now. Got some gauge cups coming. I plan to mount them to the A-pillar, and in time get a A-pillar gauge pod.

Been watching these for a while now. They were first $399.99, now the price is about $250 to $300. Went on Ebay and found one on clearence with a buy it now for $149.00 + $10.00 shipping. Got it right away. It's very nice. I didn't take a picture, but it has a small spaeker mounted on the pillar behind me near my ear. It tells me with a voice what it's detecting, then sounds an alarm.

Just looked on Ebay and I dont see any at a good price. Most are in the same range as the ones in the other link.

hmm, thats about my price range, ill have to think about it some, how hard was the install? lack of portability is my only concern...

Took me about an hour, but I was taking my time. it was rather easy. My only problem was I used one of those splicless connectors and it didn't work, so I had to mess with that. I finlyy stripped a wire and soldered it. So that took a while.

Works great. It will take a while to get used to the voice. Kinda jumped the first time I heard a female voice from behind me saying X band. Wish it came in red instead of blue. I remember reading something about if it detects anything trying to detect it, it will shut down and go stealth. Has many other features I like. It has an outside temp, I thought, what do I need that for, I have one in the car. So I dropped the probe in to my air box. Now I know the temp of the air going in to my engine. Also has a volt gauge. It also has something called the radar safty system. Somehting about areas that have the system, the detector wil warn you of road conditions. I will have to look in to that more.

I looked on line and I found another flavor of this detector, it's the Whistler Cruisader, it's made for motorcycles, and snowmobiles. Looks to be the same price. The only difference I saw was a black faceplate.
