Performance Sound
Just a question regarding the performance sound in the Bonne...
It was disconnected (at least I think) when my aftermarket deck was installed. Simply put, I want to reconnect it. To my understanding there are TWO amps in the car, one for the tweeters and the 6x9'* on the rear deck, and one for the secondary voice coils in the 6x9'* that has a crossover so the gain controls the bass independantly.
So is it possible to connect the second amp with the crossover for the gain to one of the pre-outs on my HU to it will function as it once did? Where is the first and second amp in the car anyway?
Thanks.

Yes you are right,, there are two amps, one full range, the other bass for the 6x9s. I hear that the amp is under the passenger seat but i havent looked myself. I also want to connect the gain amp to my deck with the pre outs. I tried poking around inside the dash with the preouts of my deck but I couldnt get a signal from the rear gain wires. That seperate amp would make an exceedingly easy sub system hookup

It would make it REALLY easy. But I don't even really care about get subs right now...I just want my gain to work. I tried poking around and I could only see one unused harness (here). Is that for the gain or something else? If those are not the gain wires, what are? Color?
For some reason it looks like new wires were run from the deck as well. Not sure what for though.
edit: my Haynes manual doesn't have the wiring diagram for performance sound...anyone have one?

I had 3 unused harnesses I think. Two looked just like the front and rear speaker leads and one was a 3 wire plug. If there are extra wres that someone else put in, then who knows what kind of stuff you might find.

yes the GAIN amp is under the passenger seat below the carpet in a black box. inside the black box is a metal box which is the GAIN amp. the GAIN amp i believe doesnt have a connection to the head unit. it has its own seperate wires that run to the speakers which is used when GAIN is on. and not used when GAIN is off
