Default Equalizer with Bose speakers in SSE?

Hey Group. Thanks to info from the forum, and Corvettecrazy, I replaced my Radio/CD player HU that had just the Bass and Treble controls with one that had the 7 band equalizer. It works great. However, as I am reading through my 1999 Pontiac Bonneville sales brochure, I noted that the Bose 8-speaker system was available only with the HU that had the cassette player (UN6) or the HU with the CD player with Bass and Treble slider controls (U1C). So what'* up with that? Has anyone had/have a 1999 SSE or SSEi that had the Equalizer and the Bose speakers from the factory? Seems sorta wierd.

Barry...Not sure about that brochure. While some things in my 97 SSEi were substandard (no lighted mirrors on visors) the radio had the 7 band EQ from the factory.

It works great on the 8 speaker system and actually the other week we (locals) tested a 7 band in Black94SSEi'* car. Wow.. great difference in sound. Especially the lows.

The 7 band EQ is a great upgrade from the 2 band. If the stock look is what ya want, definately do the swap

Billboost37, it was your reply to my inquiry last week about the comparison between the two that led met to get the 7. It does sound great...Lawrence Welk never sounded so good! I just thought it was odd written like that in the booklet. The booklet is a large, spiral bound one that is pretty neat. Got it on Ebay for 4.00..
