driving me nuts

No matter what i do or how i try to tune my amp my subs just sound like crap. When its parked and im tuning it it sounds amazing and rattles everything on the car, but when i start driving it sounds mooshy and and not deep at all. The box is just a little bit to big but just by a tiny bit, and that shouldnt made it sound that bad. I dont think its a capacitor because not one light dims on my car when it hits,i just dont understand it. Ive had a lot of people look at them and they all say they just dont sound right.

No alpine CDA9850 its an old one but it does the job, i think that my subs are just junk. Their 45 dollar soundstorms and no matter how i wire them they just sound worse and worse. Ive decided to get new ones but im having a hard time deciding on which ones, im lookin for 12s or 15s in the 100 to 120 dollar range.Any suggestions?

Im lookin for ones a little more powerful than those, im trying to find the best subs i can get that are 1000 watts max. I mean those kickers look good but they only have a single voice coil and only a 45 oz magnet.
