Default replacing bose with an aftermarket headunit?

i have a 1997 bonneville sse with the bose stereo. i want to replace that with an aftermarket unit like this. is it easily possible? i dont like the lack of adjustability on the bose and come time i plan on replacing all the speakers in the car anyway for something a lil more quality.

there is an aftermarket wiring harness that allows you to intergrate an aftermarket radio to a factory bose system. Use the search key and you will come across the part number. If you cant find it let me know and I will locate it for you

would it be easier in the long run to replace the head unit and speakers all in one go?

If you replace only the head unit, the only thing to remember is that the bose amp is powered off the orange wire on the second connector of the stock radio.

Put power to that from your new harness and you won't have a problem. If you don't put power to it..you won't hear a thing.

Been there..heard the silence.

replacing the speakers can get a little intracate if you are planning on bypassing the factory amp. try intergrating the aftermarket headunit first and see how you like it
