Here is the manual to the GM0S-09

The HU is getting power it turns on and turns off with the car. I am getting subs from the nonfader line out no inside audio. We are thinking the monsoon amp is not getting power for some reason. I am using a Metra GMOS-09 harness that keeps the Chimes and RAP features of the car, I dont know where to go next. I will probly get the system done by a professional becuase this is making me frustrated. Any ideas before I give up a fork out some money?

THe GMOS uses the rca for the speakers. The GMOS also has 6 other wires you have to hook up. Outline by the red circles

Do you mean that it doesn't get power at all, or it has power but it isn't turning itself on?

With Darcy helping you, you probably already know the Monsoon amp uses a reference voltage from pin A3 of the Dock-N-Lock connector to tell the Monsoon amp to turn itself on. Is that the Blue wire I see in the photo?

Do you have a volt meter?

Do you get 12V to 14V at pin A3 when the head unit is on?

Can you verify the Monsoon amp has 12V at it'* power supply wires?

Vince, I understand you are frustrated and there has been a lot of water under this bridge to get you that way. It looks like you are REALLY CLOSE so please continue to be patient. We should be able to get you going

It is my understanding that this wire is NOT the actual power wire. It is merely a way to signal the Monsoon amp to turn itself on. (you may be saying that but it is a little unclear)

I meant remote wire Vince knows what I meant lol

Now question is, Is the monsoon amp 12 volt? remote on or is there a power decrease. Because if it is 12 at the amp he can run a switched line to the amp to power it and see whats what.

Just keep in mind that it will require 12 volts at the power lead AND 12 volts at the reference that tells it to turn itself on (pin A1 of C2). The wiring diagram I have actually calls it a 14 volt reverence since the alternateor is set to charge at 13.8 volts (as memory serves).

I spoke with Vince yesterday. It appears that the module is connected correctly. He measured an appropriate voltage as being present on the 14V Ref line and as such the amp should have been turned on. For some reason, there is no audio and no chimes. This still makes me question whether the amp is actually on or not.

My next suggestion is to call the tech support line at Metra and speak with them. They will know their module and may have better luck helping you troubleshoot this. At this point, I'm not convinced there isn't a problem with the module. If there are any fuses in line with the module, perhaps check those. At any point was this connected to a power source incorrectly?
