Default Cutting A pillars a bad thing?

i sure hope not....cause instead of surface mounting my Kicker r13 tweeters on the a pillar i took the plastic off and actually cut through the metal on the inside to flush mount them. not too big of a cut, maybe 2"x3"? im not exactly sure but it shouldnt take the strength away from the roof right? lol

Ack no don't do that.

You are cutting structual members and possibly damaging the crash worthiness of the car.

It'* already done, but like i said its a real small squared cut.... it doesnt look like it would make much of a difference.

Just hope you don't ever roll you car or get into a massive front end collision on that side.

In a front impact, the A pillar will almost certainly buckle at those cuts. Maybe not a lot, but the most significant thing is that your door will probably be jammed shut (or both doors, if you've cut both A pillars and the car is hit more-or-less squarely head on) because you've weakened the rectangular structure that is your door frame.

You might, although this is a longshot, find that when the car is jacked up at one corner, you can't open the front doors anymore, or close them afterwards. I would recommend leaving them closed while you jack up the car anyway, since the first sign of a buckling A pillar will be your windshield cracking.
