00+ Aux Input EDITED: Installed
I have a 03 SLE without the monsoon system, but with XM. I'm looking for something to add an aux input for my ipod in the car. I don't want controls through the stereo, but rather just an input to plug something into. Is there any way this can be done?
I know there are some kits from some companies, but I emailed logjam electronics, and nothing they have fits the system. I also know there are some inline FM transmitters, but I haven't been able to find out if they work well, or not.
Any help would be apprecitated.
Thanks,
-Mike

lewis26,
I got your PM. I'm going to do a writeup thread (with pics) on how I got the iPAC OEM to "work" on my 2004 LeSabre. Watch the Audio forum for it.

Well i managed to get it all installed this morning. I bought a headphone extension, and wired it through the car and then into the XM box.
Now when on a normal XM station, and i plug in the ipod, the level of the XM signal goes down, and my ipod signal is heard. I dont know if thats because of the increased resistance of another cable or what.
Doesnt work on the Radio ID channel like originally thought. I dont really know why it mutes it on that channel. But it works, and I now have an Ipod Direct Input in my car.
