Default Custom Sub Box in the GXP

so i got tired of this huge sub box that i have my in my trunk, so i decided to get rid of it

everytime i hit the highway i have to remove the box from my trunk, its really heavy and i have hard time moving it alone, and also good luck finding place to store it
i just paypal'd someone in the States to make me a custom box so i can get some more room back again

currently i have the amazing JL 10W7 with its JL made box

but it takes too much space for Bass i dont use

if the box ur getting is exactly like the one pictured, its not compatible with ur W7. W7'* require more volume than pictured. the sub pictured in that custom enclosure is a JL W1V2 i believe which have very small magnents. Someone correct me if im wrong and i hope i am.
By chance it is big enough u will loose ALOT of bass. those JL ProWedge boxes are made for max output. thats prolly 2.5 cu ft for one 10" sub and the new custom enclosure looks to be less than 1 cu ft.

Yes I am aware of all of that, the sub box will be stickiing out a little more and going in a little deeper to match the specs for the 10W7
As for the amp box/mounting bracket it'll be built based on the G-Max size, so I'm aware of all it
I barely bump my sub all the way up, whatever extra bass I have out of the JL box is not worth my trunk space that I'm losing
As long as I can have a little kick in the back of my seat, I'm happy.
But thanks for the info!

ok sounds good as long as the enclosure is a little bigger than pictured ull be ok. I believe the min box volume for a 10w7 is just over 1 cu ft.
I was just worried it wouldnt work at all.

yes cubic feet is the inside volume of a enclosure. but u gotta remember that the magnent/motor structure is big on a w7 so u also have to subtract that from the net vloume. U will loose quite a bit of output. U will be going from a High Output box specially made for your sub to a MUCH smaller enclosure. But we will have to wait and see.

As long as it still gives him some knock, who cares? Not everybody is going for earth shattering bass like you are.

Right I understand, He asked how much bass he will loose. And after sub displacement, if the box is less than 1 cu ft it will sound horrible, but if the guy he is buying it from is good and knows what kind of sub is going in it, im sure he will make the necessary adjustments.

makes sense, if i lose too much i'll just go back to the HO box, and here goes $400.00 down the drain... but i doubt i'd do that, all i need is a little bass for ME inside the car, i dont care for people outside. not to mention im only 22 and im hoping to keep my ears for atleast another 50 years lol

correct, little base is all i want, reason i bought what i have now is because i got the 10w7 with the JL GMAX, the box and the wiring kit
