Rear Deck Speaker Removal
Ok guys,
When looking in the trunk, the speakers are installed from the top so I have to remove the grills. How do I get those off? It looks like the carpet goes under the grills so the deck covering has to come off. To get that off I have to take the rear seat back off and there in lies the question. How do I get the rear seat back off?
Thanks in advance.
PS. It would be nice if someone (chiltons or haynes) made a book specifically for our cars. My 1996 Geo Prism LSI has a book specifically for it.

On my 1996 SE I can just pull the grills off by squeezing two sides together, and then working it out. The speaker grill goes down and folds under the carpet a bit, it'* not hard. I think yours might be the same but I can't say for sure, but since no one answered yet I figured I'd post anyways.

Thanks Paul. I know there are owners on here that have full audio systems. I was hoping that one of those would post up. My decks are blown, (that way when I got the car). I have some cheap 6x9 3ways that I am putting back there till all the pieces parts get here for my system.

Ok, got the stocker speakers out. Here is a BIG question. Need an answer asap. The speakers wires on the right are BLUE/GRAY on the left BROWN/YELLOW. Which ones are hot and which ones are not. Thanks

When I did mine I just took a guess and if it kicked the wrong way I changed them, got them both right the first time but I do this kind of thing all the time
