Default Pre-outs not working

Hi i just recently purchased a Panasonic CQ-VD7001U in dash dvd player and when trying to hook up my subs i have been getting no sound. Ive searched and found of that there is 2v pre outs on both my new reciever and also my old reciever. I am thinkin that there is no power being sent out through my pre-outs right now. Is there a way to use a voltage meter and check?... I have already checked all wiring and also used a in line converter and connected the subs that way, and they worked fine.... The radio itself has the subwoofer option on

Any help would be appreciated

some pioneer head units have settings for the pre-outs, sometimes using combinations of them and turning some off and on.. look in the manual if you have one, or maybe try to contact Panasonic if someone else doesnt have a more elaborate answer for you

i plan on calling panasonic today, to ask but the product was used and no longer under warranty, it was factory tested though and garuteed to be working.....i think the best question would be to see if there is there anyway to check voltage of rca cables with a meter?

yes you should be able to check voltage with a meter, but you should check all the menus. I know on my pioneer I can turn a select few of them on and off

It'* not so easy to check for a signal with a meter on your RCA'*, it will have zero DC volts, and the AC voltage will only read whatever signal you're playing through it. If you have no other speakers hooked up and you have a test tape or CD with a nice continuous sinewave on it, you can turn your volume all the way up and use a meter set to read AC voltages up to 2 volts and get a continuous read. The typical way to look for a signal on your RCA'* using an instrument, is to use an oscilloscope. Then you can just visually observe the waveform coming off the RCA'* and tell immediately if it'* a good signal, if it'* clipping, or if it'* distorting in some other way, indicating a failure somewhere in the circuitry.
