Default ADDING AN AMP AND SUB TO 98 SSEI WITH BOSE SYSTEM

I have a 1998 SSEi with the Bose stereo system. I want to add an amp and sub in the trunk, but i have heard all kinds of horror stories about how hard it is to wire them in with the bose stereo. I am very good with wiring and stereo installs, but i dont want to tear into this project if theres a possibility that im going to screw something up by doing so. Can anyone shed some light on this subject for me by telling me what i might need and the easiest way to hook it all up? I just want to put a single 12" sub and single amp in the trunk.

ok .....it not all that hard as they all make it out to be.....

on your rear 6x9 there are 4 wires that run to the speaker as appoesd to a normal speaker that has 2. and there is also a Tweeter that is back there as well....

without looking at the FSM there 2 wires that come from the Bose amp that run to the 6x9'* and there are 2 wires that run from the HU to the 6x9'*...the same color wires (i believe) that run from the HU to the 6x9 also run to the tweeter....that set of wires will give you the FULL range of sound.......that is what you can use to attach your line level convertors to so you can have RCA'* to the amp

another option is to run the line level converter to the BOSE wires.....this would give you a Low level input all the time
