Default remote start on a manual tranny

i've seen remote starter around and my friend was planning on getting one the thing is do they make remote starters for manual transmissions? and if so how does the remote start get around not depressing the clutch to start???

I do not believe any shop will install on standards due to liability.

However it would be possible if you used a relay to bypass the clutch safetly switch.

so all that would basicaly be needed is to bypass the clutch safety switch. and assuming this would most likely be done in a driveway instead of a shop this is then possible?

Yes it'* absolutely possible, i know there is SOME systems out there for manual transmission cars. http://www.audiowarehouse.peachhost.com/ct_PR1256m.htm that'* a good example right there.

Get this done professionally!!! No room for error on a manual setup. And get used to using the parking brake, as the car will have to be in neutral to use the remote starter....

The one where I am getting mine done from does them for manuals. Where are you locatd?

Nick alot of people dont even know this island exists....

Mos dont you have to put the parking brake on to park a manual anyway?

Nah, you can leave it in gear, hence the clutch safety switch.
